The Sims has provided countless hours of entertainment, giving players the creative freedom to build, design, and live out their dreams through created characters and scenarios. With the ongoing success of The Sims 4 and recently confirmed Sims 5 under development as Project Rene, The Sims is one of the most expansive games on the market that only grows and gets better with time.

Countless kits, packs, and expansions have created a largely customizable experience for players, but some kits were absolute game changers and must-haves for Sims 4 players.

Country Kitchen Kit

With how much The Sims 4 puts the creativity and power of the characters' lives in the player's hands, some would like to make either period pieces or present a certain atmosphere and aesthetic. The Country Kitchen Kit is one of the few kits that aims at giving vintage material to play around with, with tons of items and décor channeling the southern countryside and the 1950s.

The Country Kitchen Kit, however, put a huge emphasis on really making the kitchen become the main focus of a home, and it did so wonderfully with the addition of appliances, kitchenware, flooring, and the sort that added a vintage touch to a sim's home.

First Fits

At school, at home, or out on the playground, kids were finally allowed to wear clothes that were not only stylish but perfect for just about any occasion. With tons of the best expansions and packs typically omitting clothing for children, it was a nice change of pace to have First Fits being entirely focused on having a decent selection of apparel for a sim that wanted a family.

Cute, adorable, yet trendy, kids were able to give off much more personality through their fits at birthday parties and more with a wide selection of leggings, shades, jackets, dresses, and more. For those families that put an emphasis on their fashion, this was a great way to have kids not feel so tacky alongside them. That is, of course, until they fall into the mud.

Bathroom Clutter Kit

A bathroom is a place every living thing visits often, and it's an underappreciated space in any abode that deserves as much attention to detail as any other room. With the Bathroom Clutter Kit, Sims fans were able to take on a variety of brand-new assets that added an immense amount of flair, with items that easily were able to cross over into other parts of an estate and giving off vibes of having tons of money in The Sims 4.

Decals for walls, soap bars, dentures, cabinets, and more added a huge amount of flexibility for not only the bathroom but for other parts of a home, and this multifaceted versatile kit is an extremely useful addition to any player's game to give that extra needed detail to rake the place feel livelier.

Moonlight Chic Kit

Just because the sun sets it doesn't mean the day is over, and the Moonlight Chic Kit makes sure that every sim continues to stay trendy well into the night in both an appealing and romantic way.

Smart jackets, silky dresses, new hairstyles, and more give the Moonlight Chic Kit a way to enhance the overall experience and look of every Sim well into the night, giving a huge amount of versatility and long-term use for it. It's arguably one of the most fashionable offerings of any Sims 4 DLC, allowing nocturnal folks to shine just as bright as the day.

Industrial Loft Kit

Melding together a rustic sense of history with modernity is one of the many traits that has always made the industrial aesthetic so appealing and used in a variety of locations such as apartments and cafés. With the Industrial Loft Kit, Sims 4 expanded its repertoire even further by giving Sims a chance to channel a cozier side to themselves and simultaneously giving off a richer sense of lifestyle through a high-paying career path.

Wood and steel are the main focal points of the pack - as is with the aesthetic - and though the kit may feel a little more barren in its offerings than others, its flexibility is what makes the pack so reusable not only with other packs but within itself, allowing for a clean look that still gives off plenty of personality.

Incheon Arrivals Kit

Korea has always been one of the most fashionable countries in the world, and with the Incheon Arrivals Kit, The Sims 4 added a whole new set of clothing and trends that allowed players to create and expand their fashion senses in a whole new way.

Blazers, cardigans, jackets, boots, and more all stylized in the Incheon Arrivals Kit opened up new wardrobe options that gave an injection of culture and panache to any and every character. The Incheon Arrivals Kit was the perfect balance of comfort, style, class, and making a statement.

Everyday Clutter Kit

While messiness can become problematic in real-life circumstances, organized chaos is an entirely different perspective on the matter that can provide a sense of style through the noise. With the Everyday Clutter Kit, The Sims 4 brought tons of new items and décor to play around with that gave homes, rooms, and more a much-needed boost in flair that also gave it a sense of realism and authenticity.

Coffee cups, organizers, headphones, glasses, hats, makeup kits, and tons more help give identity to every room the kit finds itself being used in, and it's become one of the most-used kits throughout The Sims 4 as players decorate their homes to give off a heap of atmosphere and unique vibes. It's also a great way for players to challenge themselves in The Sims 4 by seeing how much one can add to a room while still looking good and cohesive.

Desert Luxe Kit

Without looking at the contents, the initial reaction to the Desert Luxe Kit would be that it would be a kit filled with cacti, scorpions, and sand-based materials, but it's one of the most stylish and modern kits around. Perfect for outdoor accommodations, the Desert Luxe Kit comes with plenty of assets like fireplaces and fire pits also inspired by stone and wood.

The Desert Luxe Kit gave ample opportunity to build both an indoor and outdoor oasis perfect for get-togethers and parties, and the number of possibilities in which players could create lounges and fun scenarios made Desert Luxe a surprising hit - not to mention that it was temporarily free on its release.

Blooming Rooms

Greenery makes the scenery come alive, and no kit took that philosophy and implemented it better than the Blooming Rooms Kit, which gave The Sims 4 a plethora of new assets that added a handful of plants as décor and furniture inspired by nature.

Sims that had either sunrooms, gardens, an outdoor lifestyle or any combination of the three were given a new and exciting way to make the green and organic life pop with style. These assets allowed for a brand-new way to give décor both inside and outside a natural flavor that perpetually gave off a sense of relaxation and comfort.

Pastel Pop

Pastel colors and vibes have largely exploded over the last few years, so it was only a matter of time before The Sims 4 took an opportunity to implement its take on the culture and aesthetic surrounding these cool and cozy colors.

Tons of mirrors, benches, furniture, organizers, tablets, and a slew of other cute and colorful accessories brought every part of a home to life from its walls to floors to desks and everything else imaginable. Though The Sims 4 will likely still have more time to get kits out before Sims 5 inevitably comes to fruition, the Pastel Pop Kit will be a difficult one to top as it's had some of the most unique selections of items since launch that have all been exceptional.
