The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has many strong and useful weapons spread throughout Hyrule, including a variety of swords, bows, clubs, bats, boomerangs, and spears. Breath of the Wild has some truly unique specifics among each of these categories like elemental-focused weapons such as the Flameblade. There are also distinct weapons that can be picked up from certain enemies like the Lynel's amazing gear.

Weapons serve as a vital part of BOTW and each has its own set durability, leading weapons to break and disappear for good. Thankfully, many of the same weapons can be picked up throughout Hyrule so that players won't run out of their favorites. The only exception to this is the Master Sword, one of the best video game swords, which needs to recharge after it loses its durability rather than breaking.

Ancient Bladesaw

The ancient weapons are some of the best players can get in Breath of the Wild and Ancient Bladesaw is a stand-out. It has a strength level of 55 and a durability rating of 50, which will allow players to use it for a while.

This two-handed sword can only be crafted at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab alongside many other impressive ancient pieces of equipment. The sword is very effective at sweeping aside a swarm of enemies and one slash will send plenty of monsters sprawling onto their backs. The Ancient Bladesaw also deals extra damage to Guardians. Fighting with two-handed weapons is already the best way to approach fighting Guardians, so its ability makes the battles all the easier.

Savage Lynel Sword

Lynels are one of the most unusual races in The Legend of Zelda and every weapon of theirs is worth keeping when obtaining. The Savage Lynel set is by far the best. This massive sword's base strength level is 58 with a durability rating of 41. The weapon is dropped from White-maned Lynels and Silver Lynels.

The standard style of gameplay is a single-handed sword alongside a shield, which will make Savage Lynel Sword a perfect weapon to acquire. The sword is brutal looking and will make any player feel stronger simply by wielding it. Despite the size of the blade, it swings just as quickly as any straight sword, which will enable players to keep their movements swift. The Savage Lynel Shield is also a great shield to use in combination with this sword.

Boulder Breaker

Boulder Breaker is obtained after completing the Divine Beast Vah Rudania, often thought of as the worst Divine Beast in Breath of the Wild, and was the weapon of Daruk. Boulder Breaker is an incredibly powerful two-handed sword with a high durability of 60. Its strength level is also 60 and will last a long time.

Due to the weapon being made out of metal, it will actually conduct electricity when it's struck by lightning, which can enhance Link's attacks (though it can also hurt him). While this sword is one of the strongest players can get in BOTW, along with having some of the highest durability, it will break. However, players can obtain a new one from Rohan as long as he has the required materials. Rohan is the blacksmith that can be found in Goron City.

Royal Guard's Spear

The Royal Guard weapons are easily the best in BOTW, and players should strive to get as many as they can. These weapons can only be found in Hyrule Castle with some dropping from enemies wielding them, and the spear has a base strength level of 32 and 15 durability.

The Royal Guard Spear, seen in BeardBear's video, is a perfect weapon for mid-ranged fighting, as the jabs from its attacks are precise and powerful. While spears aren't going to fit every player's preferred fighting style, they should still pick one up if there's room in their inventory, as it can help a player out of a tight bind when they need it. The charged attacks are incredibly effective to use against larger opponents or mini-bosses.

Royal Guard's Bow

The Royal Guard's Bow is another weapon part of the Royal Guard set and is easily the best bow players can get in Breath of the Wild, the best-selling The Legend of Zelda game. This bow has a strength level of 50 with a durability of 20. Players can find this bow in a couple of different locations in Hyrule Castle.

Sniping enemies from afar is one of the best ways to approach combat in Breath of the Wild. As usual, in Zelda games, Link can either use his bow relatively close or from a distance. With the appropriate arrow equipped alongside this bow, there won't be many opponents that'll give Link trouble. The bows are especially nice when Link is falling down, as he can draw his bow in slow-motion and fire a few rapid strikes before he lands on the ground again.

Meteor Rod

The elemental rods are some of the coolest weapons players can get in Breath of the Wild, and the Meteor Rod is the improved version of the Fire Rod. The Meteor Rod has a durability of 32 and a base strength of 10.

While a base strength of 10 doesn't sound fantastic, the Meteor Rod is an effective weapon to use that's deadly to enemies. It does far more than blast balls of fire at opponents as it can turn a field of grass quickly into a sea of flames. This is the perfect weapon to use against enemies with ice abilities or to even fend off several enemies at once. These rare weapons can be obtained by killing Meteo Wizzrobes.

Ancient Battle Axe++

The Ancient Battle Axe++ is one of the strongest weapons that Link can get in Breath of the Wild. It's a two-handed weapon that'll deal plenty of damage with a base strength of 60. It also has a durability of 25, which isn't a lot.

The ancient material used to make these weapons is unique and isn't affected by any outside elements like fire or lightning. The charged attacks of these weapons will assail any opponent and knock them backward. These are also ideal weapons to use against Guardians, as they are extra-effective here, like all ancient weapons. While they are usually gained from the intense battles at the Ancient Shrines that test strength, they can also be obtained as a rare reward from Amiibo chests.

Savage Lynel Crusher

The Savage Lynel Crusher is the strongest weapon in Breath of the Wild. Its phenomenal power has a strength level of 78 and a durability of 35, both of which are truly fantastic for the game.

This two-handed sword is a bit more difficult to use, but it's an essential weapon to hold onto for any player familiar with this style of combat. It will make any enemy that Link is up against far easier. Players should do their best to conserve Savage Lynel Crushers for when they're up against a really tough opponent. There's no point to waste this sword on weaker enemies, especially in Master Mode. Fighting other Lynels with the weapon is also a good strategy so that players can rack up on possessing multiple of them, although these are some of the rarest enemies in Breath of the Wild.

Royal Guard's Claymore

The Royal Guard's Claymore is not only gorgeous but exceptionally powerful, as well. However, it does have less strength than the Savage Lynel Crusher with a base level of 72 and, unfortunately, has a low durability rating of 15.

However, this is still one of the best weapons that players can claim in Breath of the Wild, as seen in BeardBear's video above. Like all two-handed swords, the Royal Guard's Claymore is also a perfect weapon to knock enemies onto their backs with their powerful charges. These weapons also look fantastic hanging up in Link's home as mantle pieces. Like the other Royal Guard gear, it can only be obtained at the Hyrule Castle. It's a great sword to hold onto when getting ready to fight against Ganon, one of the best final boss fights in video gaming.

The Master Sword

The Master Sword remains the best weapon in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, even if it does have its flaws. The sword has a base strength of 30 but can go up to 60 in certain areas and around specific enemies. Players can improve the Master Sword's durability even further in the DLC.

Its durability is the main reason why the sword is so great and that's because it's only temporary. The sword has a durability like most weapons, however, it only needs a charge time until it can be used again (which is 10 minutes). The weapon is incredibly powerful and should always be used when going into shrines or the Divine Beasts in Breath of the Wild. It will also make the final battle against Ganon much easier. An extra awesome feature of the Master Sword is that Link can also fire beams of energy from it when his health is full.
